Overview
When using pacing as a navigation method during ascent or descent of
a a slope, the distance measured on the map is not equal to that
covered on the ground, which, bearing in mind that pacing is
normally carried out in low visibility or darkness, can make
navigation even harder.
The
Mountain Trails Pacing on a Slope Card therefore provides an index
of 'map to ground' distances to enable you to calculate pace counts
more accurately and therefore greatly increase your ability to hit a
checkpoint or get to safety with minimum tears.
